A Very Sincere "Thank You"...
Everyone involved with the music program would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who "Joined the Ranks" to support the work being done to maintain our majestic and historic Austin organ. Your generosity and overwhelming response resulted in over $4,000.00 in contributions towards this important work. Oftentimes the work being done is not visible, or even audible in some cases; however, this important work is very necessary to keep this complex mechanical wonder working in top-notch condition. Our outstanding instrument celebrated a milestone ninetieth anniversary this past All Saints’ Day, and continues to amaze us with its beautiful sounds, its wide variety of tonal colors, and its expressive range which goes from a whisper to a very mighty crescendo effortlessly. Our Austin organ serves us well. In recent years, thanks to our Concert Series, outstanding organists have presented some fabulous recitals which have beautifully showcased the extraordinary sounds and colors of our organ, and all who have performed on our Austin have praised the capabilities and nuances of this very special instrument. Weekly, we experience the beautiful sonority of our organ in worship; we often take for granted the fact that it is always there to accompany us in song, psalm, and prayer.We would also like to thank the very talented and capable people of Patrick J. Murphy Associates for the extra special care they take while servicing our aging Austin. They are always available whenever we need them, and they keep us informed of what is going on "behind the pipes" we see, in an effort to solve small issues before they become big problems. Their outstanding guidance greatly aids us in making sound and reasonable maintenance decisions.
The need for maintenance of our fine instrument is ongoing. If you have not already done so, it is not too late to prayerfully consider "Joining the Ranks" to help preserve this magnificent, historical treasure. There is always a need when maintaining a large and complex mechanical instrument, so there will always be an opportunity to "Join the Ranks!"
