What so ever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, you do unto me.
Reaching out to others with the light of Christ:
In order to live our mission statement, we are always looking for opportunities for new outreach activities to share the love of Jesus Christ with the community. One identified area of need in the community is food insecurity that children experience when school dismisses for the summer and the lunch program is not operational. Another area of concern is the children who are enrolled in the Title I reading program who don’t get supplemental reading instruction or read at home during the summer. These children lose skills that are necessary for becoming successful readers and start school in September behind many of their classmates. To help address this problem, Trinity would like to host a summer reading camp during the summer of 2018.
The idea behind the camp is to have 30 children from kindergarten to grade 3 from the Pottsville Area School District attend camp for a one week period from 8 am to 12:30 pm to participate in reading activities and receive breakfast and lunch. Trinity will partner with the school district as well as other agencies to help provide funding and support for this program but we also need help from our parishioners. As we plan for this program the vestry would like you to prayerfully consider helping in the following ways:
Serving and preparing breakfast and lunch
Tutoring the children in reading
Writing grants and proposals for funding
Securing materials and donations
Creating learning materials and activities
If you are interested in helping with this new outreach ministry, please speak to Barb Tokarz or any member of the vestry.

Please continue to “Bring a Can to Church” when you visit Trinity! Many donations have been made from Trinity to Schuylkill Community Action for distribution to the 16 food pantries in Schuylkill County. All of our donations are matched through federal grant funds, so we are giving twice! Thanks for all of your generosity!
